The Nanak Darbar North London is a Gurdwara (temple) which was created to serve the Sikh community in Haringey, Enfield and surrounding areas.
The Sikh religion emanates from the Punjab – a region in the north west of India – and is one of the worlds youngest, having it’s origins in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.
Sikhism is based on the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev who taught that all religions followed the same god and that all men and women were equal. A brief history and outline of the Sikh faith can be found on the Diversiton website
